Premarital Counseling As Prevention

We hate to scare you, but it's true that around 1/3 of marriages end in divorce. Sometimes that's the right outcome and some relationships need to end. We don't believe all marriages that end are failures. However, a lot of those marriages don't need to end, and could have benefitted from prevention. Premarital counseling is a great way to prevent the kinds of problems that eventually lead to divorce.

The bad news:

Every couple has a unique communication pattern they fall into when they are not getting along. Without intervention, that pattern becomes more and more painful. As the pattern repeats, it feels way too easy to fall into that rut. Whether the argument is about a small issue or an insignificant one, the painful communication pattern repeats over and over.

The good news:

We can help you find the way OUT of that negative communication pattern. When we help you find the way out, and then you practice getting out of it, you find that your whole relationship gets stronger. You're standing together against the pattern rather than against each other.

Why not find the "hack" for your relationship struggle BEFORE it gets entrenched?

Good couples therapy is a bit like exercise. People are usually glad they started. No one says they wish they had waited longer to start.

In addition to preventing divorce, you’ll also prevent spending more time and money on couples therapy in the future. We would rather help you set up a fantastic foundation now than help you repair your relationship later.
